Cardinal Sideline Chair Sponsorship Drive

The St. Joseph Athletic Club is offering an opportunity for all Cardinal supporters to sponsor a new sideline chair. The sideline chairs are used for volleyball and basketball game day benches as well as for special events in the Activity Center. All chairs will feature a sponsorship plaque on the front of the chair.  Each plaque has four lines available for your dedication. List your family, your athlete's name, jersey number or class year, business name, etc.
Only 36 sponsorships will be sold. All sponsorships are first come, first serve via this website.

Spring-Fall Sports 2019

This registration is for both Spring and Fall Sports. There are three separate Divisions

1. CYO Girls Softball - 5th-6th Grade. Girls in 5th and 6th grade. Practices will start March 11 and the season will conclude early in May. 

2. CYO Co-Ed Soccer. Boys and Girls from 5th through 8th grade in the fall of 2019. A single co-ed team will participate in the Monroe CYO. Practices begin mid-August. The team will participate in a pre-season tournament and a post season tournament and league play. The season will end approximately October 20.

3. CYO Girls Volleyball. Girls in 5th through 8th grade in the fall of 2019. Teams formed at the JV (5th/6th) and Varsity (7th/8th) levels. Depending upon participation, 4th grade girls may be invited to tryout. Please contact the AD prior to registering.

Participation requirements for the CYO League are:
• Any student enrolled in St. Joseph School
• Any registered member of St. Joseph Parish who is attending Religious Formation classes
• Any registered member of an adjoining parish not sponsoring a basketball team who is attending Religious Formation. Members of St. Timothy, Sacred Heart GI, St. Cyprian, St. Mary Rockwood and St. Rochs are among those eligible parishes.

Dual Participation Rules

For softball - players may be registered on travel or recreation team rosters and still participate in CYO softball. However, players are expected to play in all CYO games. Players may NOT participate on a public school team and a CYO team.

For soccer and volleyball. CYO players may not participate in the same sport during the same season for any other school, travel or recreation team.

REGISTRATION FEES - IMPORTANT INFORMATION

There is a $50 registration fee per player for each sport. 

In addition to the registration fee, each registrant for the Spring-Fall Season is required to purchase two Cardinal 250 raffle tickets ($20 each for a total of $40). So the total of your registration fee will show $90 per player per sport.

Families registering multiple athletes for multiple sports will be limited to a maximum of four Cardinal 250 tickets. Your cart will show a credit of $40 for each player over 2 per family. Example:

Tickets can be sold to anyone and will be distributed in the fall.

We require all athletes to attend all practices and games (not including holiday vacations and church/school activities). Please consider this commitment before registering. 2019-20 Winter Sports

This registration is for both Basketball and Sideline Cheer. There are three separate divsions:

1. Sideline Cheer. Girls from K through 8th grade. Participants will cheer at basketball games in the winter. Practices will begin in September.

2. CYO Basketball. Boys and Girls from 4th through 8th grade. St. Joseph will enter teams in the Detroit CYO for boys and girls competing at the Junior Varsity (6th grade and below) and the Varsity (8th grade and below) level. Teams will compete both in pre-season tournaments and in league play. Varsity teams are eligible for a city wide post-season tournament. Practices start November 4, 2019 and city playoffs end early in March 2020.

Participation requirements for the CYO League are:
• Any student enrolled in St. Joseph School
• Any registered member of St. Joseph Parish who is attending Religious Formation classes
• Any registered member of an adjoining parish not sponsoring a basketball team who is attending Religious Formation. Members of St. Timothy, Sacred Heart GI, Our Lady of the Woods, St. Cyprian, St. Mary Rockwood and St. Rochs are among those eligible parishes.

Per CYO rules, athletes who participate for St. Joseph may not play basketball for any other school, recreation program or travel team during the CYO basketball season, with the exception of 2 events during the season.

Teams will practice 3 times per week and will play a minimum of 1 game per week, every week starting the week before Thanksgiving through early March. On average, our teams play between 13-16 games during the season.

Families registering multiple athletes for basketball and cheerleading will be limited to a maximum of four Cardinal 250 tickets.  Example:

A family registers 3 family members. 2 are playing basketball, one is cheerleading. The family would pay the $60 registration fee per athlete, plus two Cardinal 250 tickets for each player. The cart will reflect a total of $300.  A credit of $40 will be applied to your account for the extra two Cardinal 250 tickets.

Tickets can be sold to anyone and will be distributed at the pre-season parents meeting in October. The raffle will be conducted in the month of February, 2020.

PLEASE NOTE: Registration deadline is September 13, 2019. Based on enrollments at that time, we will decide how many teams we will enter into the CYO League. If any teams are full, registration will be closed. If any teams have roster spots available, registrations after September 13 will be subject to a $50 late fee.
